  • Maximizing gain question

    Hello.

Say it is Monday and I know I am going to need to pauses hanging in the coming weekend. Should I avoid hanging this week so that my ligs don't re heal stronger with the weekend break?
Basically, is it worse to stretch for 5 days and then have a 2-3 day break than not stretch at all until I have a few weeks I can do it with more consistency?

I want to see results however it is hard when I literary am not able to for at least 1 day a week, usually on the weekend.

    Thank you

There is no avantage or progress in not hanging. The more time you take off, the more your collagenous tissues are able to heal, making them harder to further deform. Also, the more time you take off, the more soft tissue conditioning you will lose.

Have you already started hanging consistently? For how long? Have you made gains? When will you be able to hang every day?

Are you able to hang for at least one set on that one day per week?

      Bib,

      >Have you already started hanging consistently? For how long? Have you made gains? When will you be able to hang every day?<

I have not seen any gains I can confidently say I've made yet. I started not long ago... maybe a little over month, and I've worked up to just 8 lbs now. I cannot say I'll ever be able to hang everyday for some time. I have a girlfriend and it's definitely impossible to hang when she is over for say 2 days.

      >Are you able to hang for at least one set on that one day per week?<

The best I've been able to do with my current conditions is yes do 2 sets or sometimes even just one 1 day a week. On the days where I can fully hang I try to do 4 sets, maybe five. It's proving to be harder/more time consuming than I thought. Need to make sacrifices.

My overall question is if you think it is theoretically worth it to hang 5/7 days of the week? Or is there little meaning with 1-2 rest days...

      thanks again

If I could not hang for two days out of seven, I would either come up with something different, or not hang. I tried that when I first started, and it was negative.

The soft tissues lose conditioning, and the collagenous tissues heal and become stronger.

If you just started, you might wait until you have a more favorable schedule to make gains.
